Junaid: A film by Raza Ansari, Sarah Rifai, Mehtab Shah and Daud Arif

A Potpourri of Vestiges Feature

Junaid, a documentary by Raza Ansari, Sarah Rifai, Mehtab Shah and Daud Arif, presents the untold story behind the lynching of a 16 year old boy named Junaid a day before Eid on board a train while on his way back to his home. A resident of Ballabhgarh, Haryana, Junaid had come to Delhi with his brothers to do shopping for Eid. The 16-year-old was brutally stabbed to death on his way back for being a suspected beef eater.

The film endeavors to bring to light the untold story of Junaid that went completely unnoticed amidst the race for TRP's and political mileage. So brace yourselves for the reality which was not shown by any of the media houses!

The filmmakers, in collaboration with Sabka Ghar (house dedicated to all those who have been killed in the name of religion, race, caste & boundaries) have organized a special screening of the film at Khudai Khidmatgar, Sabka Ghar, Street No: 1, Ghaffar Manzil, Okhla, Delhi - 110025 on 8 October, 2017 at 3:30 PM. The screening will be followed by a discussion with Advocate Kabir Dixit (Supreme Court) and the filmmakers.

Update: Renowned Activist and Social Scientist Kamla Bhasin will also be present for the screening / discussion.
