Film Critic Murtaza Ali Khan bestowed with Shri Krishna Gopal Richhariya Memorial Journalism Award


Indian film critic Murtaza Ali Khan has been bestowed with the prestigious Shri Krishna Gopal Richhariya Memorial Journalism Award for the year 2020 by Konch International Film Festival. The citation reads as follows:
“Konch International film Festival is proud to start Shri Krishna Gopal Richhariya Memorial Journalism Award from this year. Mr. Richhariya always endeavored to bring the suffering of the marginalized and the deprived through his writings as well as through his compositions, he continued to highlight the current problems. While bestowing the Shri Krishna Gopal Richhariya Memorial Journalism Award 2020 on Murtaza Ali Khan (Film Critic), the festival wishes him a bright future ahead.”

Khan has been writing on cinema for over 10 years. His work as a film journalist has been acknowledged both nationally as well as internationally. He runs an award-winning entertainment blog named A Potpourri of Vestiges, which gets regularly featured amongst the top movie review blogs in the world. He writes for various leading publications in India as well as abroad and regularly appears as a guest panelist on television and radio.
Konch is a city situated in the Jalaun district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh with a rich cultural and historical legacy. Owing to the ongoing pandemic, the 2020 Konch International Film Festival was held online. According to the Festival, the response was overwhelming with a reach of over 200,000 people.
