Dangal's box-office collections and why Salman Khan rates it higher than Lagaan

A Potpourri of Vestiges Feature

Salman Khan on Dangal

Salman Khan recently watched Dangal and he thinks that Dangal is one of the best films he has ever watched. He also believes that Dangal is the best film of Aamir Khan's career and is even superior to Lagaan.

Salman Khan had recently tweeted that his parents thought that Dangal was better than Sultan and that he hated Aamir professionally but loved him personally.

Now that he has watched it himself he appears to be awestruck by different aspects of the film. He was full of praise for Aamir and the actresses who have portrayed Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari. Salman also praised the movie's screenplay, dialogues, and narration.

Dangal is being touted as the biggest film of the year by trade analysts. And so far it has been living up to the expectations. While on Friday it did a business of 29.78 crore, on Saturday the collections further improved to 34.82 crore, taking the total tally to 64.60 crore.

Given it's gonna be a double bill on Sunday with Christmas jingles being heard everywhere the total collections on the Indian box-office look set to cross the magical figure of Rs 100 crore.

For the uninitiated, Dangal is the story of a retired wrestler's struggle against society and system to train his daughters as wrestlers in the absence of any funds or resources.
