By Murtaza Ali Khan

The highly anticipated trailer of  Toilet - Ek Prem Katha is out and so let's examine it a bit. But, before we do that, let's quickly look at its storyline. The films is meant to be a satire on the age old tradition of open defecation in India. Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, Toilet - Ek Prem Katha stars Akshay Kumar, Bhumi Pednekar, Sudhir Pandey, Shubha Khote and Anupam Kher.

Here is a love story with a difference. There is a rural guy who is desperate to get married. When finally he finds the girl of his dream his lucks take a major twist. After the wedding night when the girl realizes that the house of his in laws has no toilet she is flabbergasted. Like every other women in the village she must wake up very early in the morning and defecate out in the open. So she leaves her husband who finds it difficult to understand the gravity of the situation. For him not having a toiler has never been a big deal but now he finds himself in a great mess. Thus begins his fight with the administration to get a sewer line in place. Akshay Kumar is looking at his humorous best. His chemistry with Bhumi Pednekar looks quite appealing.

Toilet - Ek Prem Katha supports the government of India's Swachh Bharat Mission and so there is a high probability that it will be made tax free in many of the states. The film is co-produced by Aruna Bhatia, Shital Bhatia, Abundantia, Viacom18 Motion Pictures, Arjun N Kapoor and Hitesh Thakkar.
