After an explosive beginning, MX Player Original Series ‘Aashram’ is set to be back with ‘Aashram Chapter 2 - The Dark Side’. The trailer for the same was recently released and it certainly promises a larger and a darker canvas as stakes get higher.
As the true face of Kashipur waale Baba Nirala unfurls, various hidden dark secrets of Aashram are discovered by the Sub-Inspector Ujagar Singh and Constable Sadhu. On the other hand, by roping in a famous pop-star Tinka Singh, Baba rises as the icon of the youth. With this rising popularity and fame, Baba becomes the center of attraction for both political candidates who are contesting for the upcoming state elections.
Pammi, who has turned into a blind devotee of Baba, continues to flourish inside the Aashram. How far will her blind faith for Baba sustain? After all, behind his holy image of a messiah, lies the true monster, who exploits young girls. Will Pammi’s fate be any different from all the other girls who fell victim to this deep nexus?
Aashram is one of the finest series to have come out in the recent times. It’s dark, daring, and diabolical. And it’s very realistic for the most part. But it is certainly not meant for the faint-hearted. In fact, all those criticizing the series like Flesh and Aashram are those who start to squirm the moment they are exposed to the dark realities of the world we inhabit. Living in big cities with all the facilities at our disposal, we often tend to overlook the harsh realities associated with a poverty-stricken life. Aashram is a stark reminder that behind the façade of the civilized world, which we think we have built for ourselves, there is a dangerous world out there where cruelty and lawlessness still reign supreme.
The next chapter is expected to take us deeper into the darkness. With expectations already so high it’s not going to be a cakewalk to keep the viewers satisfied as we have seen in recent times with most series when it comes to the sophomore efforts. So Prakash Jha and team have their jobs cut out. Aashram Chapter 2 - The Dark Side will start streaming from 11th November onwards.
