Film Critic Murtaza Ali Khan responds to Kangana Ranaut's accusations about Bollywood celebrities' selective outrage against the death of George Floyd

Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut has created a new controversy by accusing her fellow actors for joining the George Floyd protests not raising their voices against the Palghar lynching. But the ironical thing is that she herself never condemned any lynching incident involving a minority victim: be it Junaid, or Pehlu Khan or Tabrez or others.

Ex-students of AJK MCRC, Jamia Millia Islamia, Mehtab Shah and Raza Ansari and team, have made a powerful documentary about the lynching of a Muslim boy from Ballabhgarh named Junaid on a Mathura-bound train a few years back. It was recently released online. In the light of what happened to Floyd in the US everyone needs to revisit the lynching of the 17 year old Junaid. It can be watched here.

Film Critic Murtaza Ali Khan joined NewsX via Zoom earlier this evening to share his thoughts on the issue at large.
