And, yes, I agree with everything that you have said about Ray... the man was indeed a genius and deserve all the praise that he has received over the years in national as well as international circles, and more!!!Murtaza Alihttp://www.apotpourriofvestiges.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6279678409089205149.post-61811724638428785092013-11-29T00:12:40.775+05:302013-11-29T00:12:40.775+05:30He's the first one who's changed my perspe...He's the first one who's changed my perspectives on cinema and having been a life long admirer of Manik Babu as i call him its overwhelming to see Pikoo & Shatranj here. I would also like to refer Pratidwandi and Jana Aranya from the famous Calcutta trilogy third being the company limited to the viewers who are not being familiar to ray, there is not a single frame that u would find irrelevant in these films its just a one word masterpieces. And he's Probably the only man in the cinema to have been actively involved in all the aspect of film production (besides acting) after chaplin.Prithwi Banerjeenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6279678409089205149.post-26836750620170384812013-06-11T23:30:38.366+05:302013-06-11T23:30:38.366+05:30My film analysis of Satyajit Ray's 1958 master...My film analysis of Satyajit Ray's 1958 masterpiece, Jalsaghar aka The Music Room:

http://www.apotpourriofvestiges.com/2013/06/jalsaghar-1958-indian-maestro-satyajit.htmlMurtaza Alihttp://www.apotpourriofvestiges.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6279678409089205149.post-79927360144456278062013-05-02T06:12:35.908+05:302013-05-02T06:12:35.908+05:30Wow that's a lot of had work...Wow that's a lot of had work...The Gappuccinohttp://gcaffe.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6279678409089205149.post-4180627909529322522012-10-15T01:00:07.169+05:302012-10-15T01:00:07.169+05:30Thanks a lot, Nibedita... Very nice to see Pikoo make your top 5, an unusual selection. I'm not a huge fan of Shatranj Ke Khilari, but I know I'm in the minority there. My top 5: 1. Mahanagar (my #2 film of all time) 2. Charulata (#10) 3. Pather Panchali (#32) 4. Devi (#76) 5. Pratidwandi (#88) I also did a post on Ray for the "Winning Streaks" blogathon: http://martinteller.wordpress.com/2012/08/21/winning-streak-satyajit-ray-1958-1964/Martin Tellerhttp://www.facebook.com/MartinTellernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6279678409089205149.post-8681782046227354172012-10-08T07:34:01.652+05:302012-10-08T07:34:01.652+05:30Can't help it... the IMDb readers were quite k...Can't help it... the IMDb readers were quite keen on it!
